Travelling can seem daunting when you have a food allergy or intolerance. It can be a good idea to have a print-out of the foods you cannot eat in the language of the country you are visiting. You can show it when you get to the restaurant then.
If you are looking for vegan restaurants then the Happy Cow app is very useful to find places in the local area. It lists vegan and vegetarian cafes and restaurants, as well as non-veg places which have vegan options. It also shows shops where you can buy vegan produce.
If you have a particularly restricted diet (for example if like me, you are vegan and following the Low FODMAP diet for IBS) you might want to think about taking some food with you. When I go on a trip I normally take a bag of Huel with me. Huel is nutritionally complete powdered food, which just needs to be mixed with water to make a smoothie. It might not seem very inspiring but it can be a life saver if you are stuck in a situation where there is no suitable food available.
Here you can find some information on some countries we have visited, to give you an idea of the sort of food you can expect.
